Yoga Services:


Senior faculty member at YAMA studio for yoga teacher training at both the 200 hour and 500 hour level.

 

In yoga therapy private practice since 1995.

 

Incorporated yoga into athletic training for track teams at American University in Washington, DC (2007-2009). and at Maryvale in Baltimore (2011- present).

 

Initiated yoga programs in several Baltimore hospitals, including Union Memorial Hospital (on-going since 1990), Greater Baltimore Medical Center (ongoing since 1992), St. Joseph Medical Center (ongoing since 1996) and Franklin Square Hospital (since 1991).

Managed the in-patient massage and yoga therapy program at St. Joseph Medical Center in Baltimore, MD from 2003 - 2008.

Provided yoga therapy to in-patients in Psychiatry, as well as with Congestive Heart Failure Patients at St. Joseph Medical Center from 2001 - 2008

Developed and leads "ABCD "(After Breast Cancer Diagnosis) Yoga, initially launched at Greater Baltimore Yoga Center, and now offered through Johns Hopkins Avon Breast Center.



She says:

"I have the best job in the world. Every day I am given the privilege of helping people feel better in their bodies and in their lives. I work with a variety of people, some in hospital beds with chronic illness, others are young and healthy and wanting tools to improve their sports performance or manage the stress of life. Others are finding that their body doesn't do what it used to and want to uncover their innate flexibility, strength and balance.

When someone has a yoga session for the first time and has an "Aha" moment, it is the most amazing thing. Then, they come back the next week and tell me that they slept better than they have in months, or that the pain in their back has gone, or that their asthma is better than it's ever been, I am ever reminded of this gift which I am blessed to share.

I look for what's right with people, not what's wrong with people. Then we cultivate that facet of their being. As we do that, we find that the unnecessary stuff tends to fall away, bringing us closer to our true, and for that matter, happier self.

At our core, we're all divine beings. And the practice of yoga is one that connects us with that deeper knowing."
